There's no way to really understand how amazing permit are until you spend a day targeting these flashy jacks.

Permit can be found offshore in big schools on wrecks or cruising around the flats, following stingrays, doing headstands with their tails out of the water or soaking up the sun while floating on the surface. 

Permit fishing is best between May and October but can be caught year round if the weather lines up. For fly saltwater fisherman, catching a permit on fly is an amazing accomplishment many seek to achieve. But for those who want to use spinning tackle, permit can not resist a live crab and put up a crazy fight with many drag peeling runs.
